3. Shaun Livingston
If you can’t beat them, pay them enough so they join you. In the 2017 NBA Finals, Livingston proved once again that he is one of the best, and most clutch backup point guards in the NBA. He’s a strong defender, and has an uncanny ability to nail shots when they matter most. On the flip side, current Cavs backup point guard Deron Williams showed his once All-Star form wasn’t ready for the NBA Finals. With the Warriors having to pay Kevin Durant, Stephen Curry, and Andre Iguodala this offseason, it’s possible Livingston will be looking for a new home. While the Cavs would likely have to spend a majority of their available cap space to secure Livingston, he would quickly become an invaluable backup to Kyrie Irving. It’s an attractive destination for Livingston as well. He would likely enjoy a much larger role with the Cavs than he had playing among the four All-Stars that call Golden State home.
