8. Keep Klay Thompson in Check
Warriors star shooting guard Klay Thompson has not played very well as of late, but the Cavs should anticipate him bouncing back in the NBA Finals.
Klay Thompson was abysmal during the Western Conference Finals against the Spurs, but his teammates definitely picked up the slack for him.
Despite the Spurs being without superstar forward Kawhi Leonard for almost the entire series due to a severely sprained ankle, Thompson was unable to take advantage. He averaged just 11.0 points per game and made just 16 of the 49 shots he took in four games against San Antonio.
Thompson’s recent struggles from the field should give the Cavs even more of a reason to try and lock him down on defense. He is still a major threat to score any time he has possession of the ball, and won’t hesitate to make teams pay for playing him softly.
