7. Fourth in Career Playoff Starts
Being able to continually answer the bell and thrive during the postseason is the sign of a legendary player. James managed to move into fourth place in career playoff starts and pass two legends in the process.
James entered the 2017 postseason with 199 starts in the same number of games played. That number put him one behind both Bryant and Hall of Famer Scottie Pippen, with Game 2 vaulting James into fourth place all-time in this category.
Currently six games behind San Antonio’s Parker, James could potentially bypass him during this postseason, with his 203 starts also putting him in line to surpass former teammate O’Neal, who ended his career with 214 starts.
AÂ Look Ahead
One category to watch in the weeks ahead when it comes to James is in the steals category. In the sweep of Indiana, he collected 12 steals, raising his career playoff number in that category to 366. Currently in third place, James is expected to move up one spot in the next series since Jordan is just 10 steals ahead of him. James is also just 29 steals behind the all-time leader, Pippen, who collected 395 during his career.
Of course, the individual postseason numbers aren’t what drive James, it’s capturing another title that does. Right now, he’s 12 wins away from winning his fourth championship ring, which he undoubtedly values more than any individual accolade.
