Bypassing Bryant is a continuing theme in James’ steady march, having moved into fourth place with his final basket in Game 4 of the Indiana series. That gave him 2,015 field goals for his postseason career, one ahead of Bryant’s 2,014.
In the next series for the Cavaliers, James will undoubtedly pass a former teammate, Shaquille O’Neal, who finished his Hall of Fame career with 2,041 field goals. That leaves only two players left, with Jordan at 2,188 and Abdul-Jabbar at 2,356, with the all-time record on target to be broken in the next few years.
