To everyone else, this may seem ironic. The Golden State Warriors appear to be the sole reason the Cavaliers won’t repeat. After adding superstar Kevin Durant to the already 73-9 squad, the Dubs look unbeatable. Vegas odds, projections and predictions have all named the Warriors the 2017 champions and that’s exactly why the Cavs have all the motivation in the world.
The Cavaliers did the unthinkable last season but the challenge this season will be on a whole different level. It’s the right amount of motivation they need, especially for three-time champion James.
The 31-year-old decorated his resume with the incredible finals victory last season. James understands the level he can be on if he beats the new-look Warriors. It may finally put him on the same plane as Jordan, if not higher.
With everyone already declaring the Warriors the 2017 champions, the Cavs have all the motivation they need and more. Secretly, the Warriors’ super team has been a blessing in disguise and will help the Cavs repeat in 2017.
