2. Kevin Love Knows How to Be Effective
When Kevin Love arrived in Cleveland, the forward along with Kyrie Irving and LeBron James were being call the new Big 3. However, that talk began to sizzle out after the big man started to struggle and couldn’t find his niche with the team.
Love missed the majority of the 2015 playoffs, including the finals, and saw his production slip in the regular season. Numerous rumors stated that the three-time All-Star was on the trading block. When the 2016 playoffs got underway, many were curious to see if the once-dominant power forward could have a big impact on the Cavs.
The 28-year-old came through and provided James and Irving with the help they needed. Throughout the first three rounds of the playoffs, Love averaged 17.6 points per game. Although he suffered a concussion and struggled during the finals, Love found his game at the perfect time. The veteran grabbed 14 rebounds and played strong defense on Stephen Curry at the end of a pivotal Game 7 to help the Cavs secure its first title.
As the upcoming season begins, Love will be fully healthy and aware that he can be the All-Star the team needs. The trade rumors have ceased and the champion has garnered the respect he deserves.
