As long as James is wearing a Cavs jersey he will be the unrivaled leader of the team. The Cavs saw an incredibly rare level of change this offseason. Not only did the Cavs trade Kyrie Irving for Isaiah Thomas, Jae Crowder, and Ante Zizic, but they also picked up Jose Calderon, Jeff Green, Cedi Osman, and former NBA MVP Derrick Rose. To ask James to bring all of these new pieces together in time for another championship run is an incredibly tall task.

Luckily, James now has Wade to help lead this team. Wade is a born leader, and back in 2010, he was able to lead a team with many new players and personalities in Miami. Wade’s experience building cohesion and unity on a newly-formed superteam will help James unify the new-look Cavs in 2017-18. Similarly, Wade has playoffs and NBA Finals experience that very few players in the league enjoy. He has won three championships and has been to five Finals. There are few situations that Wade has not already seen when the game is on the line.
