Irving has already expressed his desire to be the star of an NBA franchise, and there are few teams with as great a void of star power than the Utah Jazz, who just lost Gordon Hayward to free agency. Irving and Shumpert could be sent to the Jazz for recently acquired pass-first point guard Ricky Rubio, talented youngster Rodney Hood, veteran shooter Joe Johnson, and a 2019 top-10 protected first-round draft pick.

Rubio would serve as a fantastic distributor for James and company, while Hood and Johnson would add new scoring options. This trade would leave the Cavs with far less star power than their current roster, but they would be a deeper and better defensive unit overall.
