Collecting Points in the Paint
The need for an option in between Tristan Thompson and Chris Andersen at center means that Love could very well be the best consideration. That puts him closer to the basket, which could afford him numerous chances for the hook shots that he more often than not connects on.
That play in the paint also figures to lend itself to the previously noted aggressive play, which in turn, gets him to the foul line more often. One hidden number that can put Love back into the 20-points-per-game category is trips to the foul line.
In his last three seasons with Minnesota, he averaged eight trips per game, yet his two seasons with the Cavs have seen him barely reach half that average, which can be important when it comes to an 82 percent career free-throw shooter.
