7. Paul Millsap
In another straight one-for-one player swap, the Cavaliers could acquire Paul Millsap from the Atlanta Hawks.
The Hawks have declined this season after finishing with the Eastern Conference’s best record last season. It’s clear they won’t beat the Cavaliers in the playoffs with the way their roster is currently set up. By making a move that shakes up both rosters, Love would play a key role alongside Al Horford in the Hawks’ frontcourt. He would receive more opportunities to touch and score the ball, where he’ll likely resemble the Love from Minnesota.
Millsap doesn’t necessarily need touches to be effective and he is probably better suited to play third fiddle than Love is.
This trade is a long shot and it would require some brawn from both teams to even trigger a blockbuster trade considering they’re both rivals.
However, this trade shakes up both teams and makes both squads better as a result of it.
