7 Players the Cavs Could Trade Kevin Love for by the Trade Deadline

5. Dwight Howard

Dwight Howard has seen a drastically reduced role in Houston compared to his Orlando Magic days.

He’s a clear second option on the offensive pecking order and on some nights he’s their fourth or fifth scoring option. Howard is averaging just 14.4 points, his lowest scoring average since he was a rookie in 2004-05 (12.0 points per game).

It was reported earlier this season that D12 was unhappy in Houston and would welcome a trade. In a straight one-for-one swap, the Cavaliers would trade Love for Howard.

While it doesn’t necessarily make the Cavaliers fully-equipped to match the Warriors in terms of player personnel, acquiring the more athletic Howard makes them a much more dangerous defensive team.
