9. Kyrie Irving’s Layup High off the Glass vs. Knicks
Yes, this play came against the lowly New York Knicks, who sported a pathetic 3-16 record at that point in the season, but Kyrie Irving‘s clutch layup with 10 seconds left was enough for a Cavs’ 90-87 victory on December 4th at Madison Square Garden. Irving finished the night with 37 points, as the win improved the Cavs’ record to 10-7 and avenged their home-opening loss to New York earlier in the season.
The irony of this play? Irving blew right past his future teammate Iman Shumpert to get straight to the rack. As the old saying goes: “If you can’t beat ’em, join ’em.”
