Back to a full schedule, this Heat team was practically unbeatable for much of the year, which included a 15-2 mark in the final month to close at 66-16. In the playoffs they lost just once in the opening two rounds, then were forced to seven games in each of the latter two matchups to gain a hard-fought second consecutive ring. Those struggles were a severe contrast to the 39-4 close to what had begun as a 27-12 campaign. In their last 38 games, they held a 36-2 mark.
