Larry Nance Jr. Tells Cavs Fans Not to Lose Faith in This Season

Larry Nance Jr. Cavs vs. Pistons

Larry Nance Jr., who grew up a Cleveland Cavaliers fan, took time on social media on Friday to encourage the team’s fans not to give up hope after its five losses to start the 2018-19 season.

Two of those losses have come in front of home crowds at Quicken Loans Arena, with the team looking lost in each contest.

The 25-year-old Nance missed the season’s first two games because of an injury before seeing 17 minutes of action against the Atlanta Hawks on Sunday night. In that game, he scored nine points, grabbed four rebounds and handed out four assists. In the three contests he’s played in thus far, the four-year veteran is averaging 8.0 points, 5.3 rebounds, 4.3 assists and 1.7 steals per game.

Having signed a contract extension with the Cavaliers earlier this month, Nance is expected to be a key part of the team’s rebuilding effort. He was acquired from the Los Angeles Lakers last February along with guard Jordan Clarkson, who’s been one of the few bright spots in this early 0-5 campaign.

The first opportunity for Nance and his teammates to impress the Cavaliers fan base will be on Saturday night when they host the Indiana Pacers. Last season, the Pacers took the Cavaliers to seven games during the first round of the NBA Playoffs. However, that Cavs team had LeBron James, who left in free agency during the offseason. Filling that hole is a major part of the current problem for the team, one that’s yet to be solved.
