With his 32nd birthday on the horizon, James continues to scoff at the notion of perhaps being given games off. He had never missed more than seven games in any of his first 11 seasons despite taking countless hard falls and both dishing out and taking more than his fair share of a pounding.

Curry underwent surgery in May 2011 to repair torn ligaments in his right ankle and wound up missing 40 of 66 games the following season with foot and ankle problems, although he has remained free of major injuries the past three years.
