Three times before leaving for Miami, James averaged more than 10 free-throw attempts a game for an entire season. He led the NBA in free throws made in 2008-09, the first of his four MVP seasons. While he has struggled at times early this season, he remains close to a 75-percent shooter for his career.

Curry has twice led the league in free-throw accuracy but has never averaged more than 5.1 attempts a game in any of his first seven seasons. If opposing players are careless enough to foul him while he’s launching another 3-pointer, that’s their fault.
