7: PF: Nikola Mirotic, Chicago Bulls
Mirotic could be the perfect example of a boom-or-bust fantasy selection this season. After a solid rookie regular season, Mirotic was often-times lost in the Bulls’ playoff rotation. Mirotic will struggle defensively against some of the more athletic forwards in the league, and the Bulls’ frontcourt depth in 2014-15 led to an up-and-down level of production.
That roller coaster ride should be over, however. Mirotic enters his second season poised to play a much bigger role in the Bulls’ offense. With veterans like Pau Gasol, Joakim Noah, and Derrick Rose carrying constant injury concerns, Mirotic likely could be the second most relied-upon scoring option after Jimmy Butler. Basketball-reference.com agrees, projecting Mirotic to up his scoring average to over 18 points-per-contest.
