This was a no-brainer as the top moment for Irving on Thursday night. Cavaliers Nation jumped for joy, while Spurs fans in the stands simultaneously put their hands on their heads in disbelief. San Antonio had been up by six points with just 33 seconds remaining, but Irving and the Cavs simply refused to quit.
“All the credit goes to my teammates doing a great job of screening me and getting me open,” said Irving after the game. “Our offensive execution down the stretch was huge and we got stops when we needed it. We were all tired going into that overtime, but it’s no excuses. Everybody’s gearing up for playoff basketball. That’s a great team down there, it was a great test for us and I’m glad we came out with the win.”
