High schooler Kobe Bryant wasn’t taken until the 13th pick—by the Charlotte Hornets. A subsequent trade to the Lakers again had a major impact on league fortunes, with Bryant later being a part of five NBA title teams. Still, other players also made their mark like Steve Nash, Allen Iverson, Marcus Camby, Jermaine O’Neal and Ray Allen. Though it took a number of years, the Cavaliers hit it big with their second first rounder: Zydrunas Ilgauskas.
