Facing the 9-26 Pistons, a mediocre night from the field was good enough for the sluggish Cavaliers before only 4,200 at the Richfield Coliseum. Mike Mitchell led the Cavs with 23 points to go along with 19 rebounds, while also handling the still-dangerous Bob McAdoo. Teammate Dave Robisch also contributed 22 points.
