James Harden had a reason to cheer for another Cleveland team Sunday, showing support for Deshaun Watson during the Browns’ victory over the Carolina Panthers.
A video was shared of the Cavaliers guard’s reaction, identifying the moment as coming after Watson’s second touchdown pass of the afternoon. The Browns went on to finish with a 21-18 win at Huntington Bank Field.

The timing gave Harden plenty to celebrate. Cleveland faced an 18-13 deficit in the fourth quarter before Watson found Harold Fannin Jr. for a 14-yard touchdown with 1:48 remaining.
A successful 2-point conversion put the Browns ahead by three. Carolina still had opportunities to answer, but Cleveland’s defense protected the lead. Ronnie Hickman’s interception ended the Panthers’ final possession, completing a comeback that moved the Browns to 2-1.
James Harden’s basketball season is approaching
Harden’s attention will soon return to a Cleveland team with its own preparations to complete. Earlier this month, the Cavaliers announced his return on a multiyear contract.
The Cavs have since named their 21-player training camp roster for the upcoming trip to Spain. The itinerary calls for arrival Sept. 29 and practices beginning Sept. 30, with Cleveland scheduled to host Boston in its preseason opener Oct. 8.
Before those basketball commitments, Sunday offered Harden an opportunity to join in a Browns celebration — and Watson supplied the late touchdown that made it possible.
