- Updated: July 1, 2022

Rubio had been linked to the Cavs all offseason long, so this new development really shouldn’t come as a surprise to Cavs fans.
Of course, Rubio spent part of the 2021-22 season with the Cavs before suffering a torn ACL and being dealt to the Indiana Pacers in a trade that netted Cleveland Caris LeVert.
In 34 games last season, Rubio averaged 13.1 points, 4.1 rebounds and 6.6 assists per game and added value with his veteran presence. He will likely miss the start of the 2022-23 season while he recovers from his injury.
