Another deal that would have Irving and Shumpert on the move, the Charlotte Hornets could ship All-Star point guard Kemba Walker and premier wing defender Michael Kidd-Gilchrist to Cleveland. This trade makes a lot of sense for the Cavs because not only would the offense likely not miss a step under Walker, who like Irving, is a score-first point guard, but also Kidd-Gilchrist’s defensive acumen could serve as a huge asset if the Cavs should face the Golden State Warriors in next year’s NBA Finals.
