If Bosh decides to sign with any team in the future, it will most likely be for way less than he’s used to. First of all, he’s a health risk; there’s just no doubt about that. Although he could be free from blood clots at some point, there’s always a risk of the clots coming back. There’s little chance too many teams would be willing to risk top dollar on him for that reason.
In addition, Bosh has made it clear that it’s not about the money for him at this point. He simply wants to play the game that he loves. Currently, the speculation is that Bosh just wants to prove he can play again, and if that means he has to sign a contract only worth the veteran minimum, chances are he’ll do it. Besides, he’s still owed nearly $76 million from the Heat regardless of whether or not he plays again, so he won’t exactly be strapped for cash anytime soon; the man just wants to play.
