8 Things That Must Happen for LeBron and the Cavs to Win the NBA Title

2. A Productive Bench
The Cavalier victory over Detroit was essentially accomplished by three players scoring 76 percent of the points. The other two starters added only 11 and three reserves contributed the remaining 14 points, numbers that will doom the Cavs as they go deeper into the postseason.
One of those reserves, Richard Jefferson, hit a pair of clutch baskets to spark the team’s fourth quarter comeback, but there was little production from the backup guards, Matthew Dellavedova and Iman Shumpert, and Timofey Mozgov again offered a nominal performance. Giving key starters some rest will become more important as the playoffs continue, so stepping up the production should be on this unit’s to-do list.
