James has struggled out of the gate so far from the free throw line in 2015-16. A career 74% shooter from the line, James is connecting from the charity stripe at only 61 percent so far this season. With plenty of reasons to believe that he will put in the work to get his shot right, James is primed to enter the top 15 in all-time free throws at some point late this season.
Early in his career, James consistently knocked down over 500 free throws per season. No player in recent memory has attacked the rim so fearlessly. Even though he has toned down his aggressiveness at times, James should still get to the line enough times to get the 426 free throws needed to pass Hall-of-Famer Bob Pettit and move into 15th place.
