The game of basketball has evolved. For years, offenses were built through establishing a post presence and building around that asset. While the inside game is still a necessity, the three-point shot is more important now than any time in NBA history.
The Cavs were second in the entire league in three-point attempts last season, and ranked seventh in three-point percentage. It is an aspect of their offense that will either carry them to success, or severely hurt their chances of attaining a title if they cannot shoot effectively from beyond the arc. Last season’s playoff run is a strong indicator of just how important shooting from long range is for the Cavaliers’ success.
