Projecting the Top 10 Small Forwards for the 2015-16 NBA Season

8. DeMarre Carroll

Despite being a huge part of the Atlanta Hawks’ unprecedented 2014-15 journey towards a 60-22 record and the number one seed in the Eastern Conference, small forward DeMarre Carroll left the Hawks this offseason after Atlanta was manhandled in a sweep at the hands of the Cleveland Cavaliers in the Eastern Conference Finals.

In early July, Carroll took his talents north of the border to sign a four-year contract with the Toronto Raptors worth $60 million. Last season with the Hawks, Carroll averaged 12.6 points, 5.3 rebounds, 1.7 assists and 1.3 steals in 31.3 minutes per game.

Carroll’s solid abilities as a scorer, gritty defensive presence and three-point sharpshooting (he shot 37.9 percent from behind the arc and totaled 217 three pointers made in his two seasons with the Hawks) will give the Raptors an immediate upgrade in their frontcourt on both offense and defense.

Next: Chandler Parsons
