For a couple that spent three years guarding their privacy, the weekend offered fans the fullest look yet at one of the more quietly kept relationships in sports and music.

The wedding itself stayed off social media until guests’ videos began circulating the following day. Footage showed the newlyweds celebrating with their families, while photos captured Jones in a long, sleeveless silk gown and Mitchell in a matching white tuxedo.

The couple’s first dance came to Musiq Soulchild’s 2000 ballad “Love,” a fitting pick for two people who have described their relationship as a refuge from demanding public careers. Jones, who won a Grammy and stars in Peacock’s “Bel-Air,” has been open about wanting the day to feel personal rather than performative, telling People earlier this year that she had no interest in staging a wedding built for social media.
By all appearances, she got her wish. The couple never posted their own photos from the weekend, leaving the internet to piece the day together from guests’ stories and clips.

Jaylen Brown Left the Wedding Looking for Love
The wedding’s afterglow produced its own news cycle. Streaming for fans on Monday, Brown admitted the celebration had moved him — and then turned his chat into a matchmaking service.
“Coco and Donovan, man, they touched me. It was great to see,” Brown said.
He then made the request that sent the clip viral.
“If y’all know somebody or y’all got somebody for me, y’all let me know,” Brown told his viewers.

There’s a wrinkle Cavs fans will appreciate: Brown is no longer a neutral party. Following his trade to the Philadelphia 76ers, he now shares a locker room with LeBron James on the team that ended Cleveland’s biggest offseason dream.
Mitchell and Brown will spend the next several years trying to beat each other in the East — but for one weekend in Connecticut, that rivalry stayed checked at the door.
How Donovan Mitchell and Coco Jones Got Here
The couple’s path to Greenwich stretches back three summers. Mitchell and Jones first crossed paths at Fanatics CEO Michael Rubin’s Fourth of July White Party in 2023 in the Hamptons. Public confirmation trickled out slowly from there, including a September 2024 sighting at an Usher concert in Las Vegas that set fan detectives to work.
Jones later laughed about that scrutiny on Shannon Sharpe’s “Club Shay Shay” podcast, acknowledging that followers had pieced the relationship together long before either of them said a word. The two announced their engagement in July 2025, and Mitchell spent the following months making his feelings unmistakable.
Asked about Jones at Cavaliers media day, he called her an amazing human being and added simply, “She brings me peace.”
Jones has framed the partnership the same way. Speaking with People in January, she described two careers running at full speed and a partner who never lets her doubt herself, calling Mitchell her “biggest cheerleader.”

Mitchell, 29, heads into the 2026-27 season with his personal life settled and his professional future already locked in, having signed a max extension that cemented him as the centerpiece in Cleveland. In an offseason that has tested the front office’s patience on the roster-building front, the organization’s most important player spent his summer giving the fan base something to simply feel good about.
