Add Kyle Korver to the list of members of the Cleveland Cavaliers who will not be available in Wednesday night’s matchup against the Toronto Raptors.
The veteran shooting guard was excused from the team on Tuesday, following the tragic passing of his younger brother, Kirk Korver.
We are very sad to share that Cavaliers guard Kyle Korver’s brother, Kirk, passed away today. Kyle has been excused from the team to be with his family. We extend our deepest condolences and heartfelt best to Kyle and his entire family as they go through this very difficult time.

Kyle Korver had left the team last Friday to be by his brother’s side when he became seriously ill last week. He missed Saturday’s win over the Chicago Bulls, but later returned to the team and scored 12 points in Monday’s victory over the Milwaukee Bucks.
It is unclear how long the three-point specialist will be gone from the Cavs, but there is no doubt that what is most important is that he is given the appropriate time to grieve this tragic loss.
Our thoughts and prayers are with the Korver family during this difficult time.
