Report: Cleveland Cavaliers Are ‘Clear Frontrunners’ to Land Dwyane Wade

The Chicago Bulls and shooting guard Dwyane Wade reached a buyout on Sunday night, as reported by K.C. Johnson of the Chicago Tribune.

According to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski, Wade gave back approximately $8 million of the $23.8 million he was owed to reach the buyout agreement. Wade was reportedly unhappy with the direction of the Bulls franchise, which seems to be in rebuild mode.

In addition, Wojnarowski is reporting that the Cleveland Cavaliers are the clear frontrunners to land Wade, due to his relationship with superstar LeBron James.

If the Cavs were to indeed land Wade on what is expected to be a $2.5 million deal, they would be the deepest team in the league, with a potential starting five of Isaiah Thomas, Wade, James, Kevin Love, and Tristan Thompson.
