The Cavaliers are currently scoring an average of 103.2 points per game, with anything above almost guaranteeing victory. This season, they’re 29-3 when scoring 103 points or more, with two of the three losses coming in overtime and the other in a February late-game meltdown against the Boston Celtics.
Under Tyronn Lue, the mantra has been to play at a faster pace, and in more than half of the 20 games since he has taken over as head coach, the Cavaliers have scored more than 110 points. This has been accomplished in the midst of a drastic midseason strategy change. Becoming more comfortable with it with every game, the challenge is certainly within reach.
