Andrew Bogut Reveals Who Convinced Him to Join Cleveland Cavaliers
- Updated: March 1, 2017
The signing of Andrew Bogut by the Cleveland Cavaliers brings with it a high level of excitement among the team and its fans. Bogut himself is offering an amusing reason for making the choice.
Just got a text from Bogut. Asked him, why Cleveland? Answer: “I heard it’s beautiful this time of year."

On a somewhat more serious note, Bogut indicated he knows what his main role will be when he enters the game for the Cavs, primarily spelling Tristan Thompson in the paint.
Bogut's role: “get Tristan some well needed rest. X and Os wise didn’t get that far but I’m sure they’ll use my passing as an advantage."

Finally, what may have been a key factor in his decision was the fact that he inquired with another fellow Australian about the situation in Cleveland, former Cavaliers point guard Matthew Dellavedova.
Bogut’s relationship w/fellow Aussie Matthew Dellavedova also a factor, per source. Delly spoke highly of Cavs’ team and organization.
