Having been a point guard, Lue knows what the position requires and how to effectively manage what’s expected in this area. While Kyrie Irving is already blessed with a mountain of talent, getting every ounce of ability out of him, along with that of Mo Williams and Matthew Dellavedova, on a consistent basis is something that the Cavaliers desperately need.

Lue has experience in this area, having coached with the Celtics from 2009-13. During that first year, Rajon Rondo made the All-Star game for the first time and went on to make it each year during Lue’s time in Boston.
