10 Best Available Three-Point Shooters the Cleveland Cavaliers Could Sign This Offseason

7. Marcus Thornton

A career 36% three-point shooter, Marcus Thornton has struggled recently finding a home in the NBA. After breaking through in 2011-12 with the Sacramento Kings averaging 18.7 points per game, the 6’4′” shooting guard has played for four teams in the past two seasons. His most recent stop in Phoenix saw him only netting nine minutes per game, so many see Thornton looking elsewhere for a better fit.

Thornton could provide some punch off the bench, and while he does not have the tenacity on defense that Iman Shumpert displays, he could offer some offensive firepower for the second unit. This was shown in his brief stint in Boston. In 16.4 minutes off the bench last season, he was able to connect on 42% of his threes.

Next: Jason Terry
