A name familiar to those in Ohio, this former Ohio State Buckeye was rumored to be of interest to the Cavs as last season’s trade deadline approached. The 26-year-old seven-footer has grown to become one of the more valued backup centers in the league, and is one that the Grizzlies likely will not keep due to other needs as well as having to take care of Marc Gasol’s contract. As Varejao continues to pile up years and injuries, a more reliable big will be something the Cavs will need. Koufos has the type of interior presence that would not drop off significantly from a defensive standpoint in what the team gets from Mozgov.
