Andre Drummond Reveals NBA Player He’d Like to Dunk on Most

Cleveland Cavaliers center Andre Drummond has had plenty of time to reflect on his career and indicated in a recent interview that he’d like to dunk on one of his old friends.

Drummond was interviewed by Bleacher Report on a variety of topics, including the current NBA shutdown due to the coronavirus.

When asked about the player he’d most like to dunk on, Drummond had some playful revenge on his mind.

“Bradley Beal,” Drummond said. “Brad and I are childhood friends so I want to get him back.”

Both Drummond and Beal entered the NBA as first-round picks in 2012 after brief careers at the collegiate level. Drummond played for the University of Connecticut, while Beal played with the University of Florida.

Each player has gone on to have stellar NBA careers, with Drummond having led the NBA in rebounds per game four times and Beal averaging 30.5 points per game this season.

Until being dealt to the Cavaliers last month, Drummond had played his entire NBA career with the Detroit Pistons, while Beal continues to play for his original team, the Washington Wizards.

Drummond has a player option for the 2020-21 season that he has yet to make a decision on, while Beal signed a two-year contract extension last October. The last year of Beal’s extension is a player option, which leaves open the possibility that he could be traded by the Wizards at some point.

For Drummond, early indications were that he would pick up his player option for next year, but until that becomes official, the Cavaliers will have to wait.
