Since the outbreak of the novel coronavirus brought much of daily life to a halt, some of the NBA’s biggest stars have been doing their part to help ease the load for the less fortunate.

The most recent NBA player to commit a large amount of money to help those in need is none other than Cleveland Cavaliers big man Larry Nance Jr.

Nance committed $50,000 each to the Greater Cleveland Foodbank and Akron-Canton Regional Foodbank.

“I’m just happy to be able to provide some support to the communities that have supported me,” Nance told Cleveland.com.

Nance is not the only member of the Cavs to commit a large amount of his own money.

Big man Kevin Love helped start the trend when he donated $100,000 of his own money to the staff that has worked at Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse.

After Nance announced his contribution, the Cavs’ official Twitter page posted a message encouraging others to follow in his footsteps and donate some of their own money to the cause.

It’s in times like these that communities can really come together to overcome seemingly insurmountable odds.

Hopefully, the spread of the deadly disease will be put under control soon nationwide.

Until then, there’s no doubt that people like Nance will continue to do their part to try to help those in need.
