Tyronn Lue Addresses Whether or Not He Plans to Coach Next Season

Now that the Cleveland Cavaliers‘ 2017-18 season is officially over, there are quite a lot of uncertainties regarding several of the team’s biggest names.

While most fans are now fully focused on whether or not LeBron James will return to Cleveland next season, there are also questions regarding Cavs head coach Tyronn Lue‘s future.

Lue struggled with his health throughout much of the 2017-18 regular season and even missed several weeks of coaching due to health issues which included symptoms such as chest pain and sleep depravation. Considering that, it wouldn’t be totally shocking if Lue decided this season should be his last as the Cavs’ head coach. Luckily, that does not seem to be the case.

Shortly after Game 4 concluded on Friday night, Lue made it clear that he plans to be back on the bench next season.

This is undeniably good news for the Cavs. With so many potential shakeups to the Cavs’ roster in the near future, having Lue remain at the helm will certainly help any possible transitions.

If James ultimately decides to re-sign with Cleveland this summer, fans will undoubtedly expect a fifth straight trip to the NBA Finals next season. If he leaves, Lue will be tasked with putting the pieces back together and ushering Cleveland into its second post-James era.

It’s quite the responsibility, and there a few people in the league who are better suited to bear it than Lue.
