Four Big Men Cavs Could Sign in Wake of Andrew Bogut’s Injury

4. Mike Scott

Scott was in his fifth season with the Atlanta Hawks when they dealt him to Phoenix on the final day of the NBA trading period, with the Suns then waiving him the following day. Scott’s numbers are the least impressive of this quartet, with the 6-foot-8 power forward averaging career numbers of 7.1 points and 3.0 rebounds per game. This season, he had only seen action in 18 games for the Hawks, all in a reserve capacity. In those contests, he was averaging 2.5 points and 2.1 rebounds per game.

One name that will obviously come to mind for Cavaliers fans is Anderson Varejao, who was most recently waived by the Golden State Warriors. However, the fact that he was never under serious consideration in the previous search may offer a strong hint that the Cavs are moving on from “Wild Thing.”

One Cleveland player who doesn’t appear concerned about the predicament of the Cavaliers is LeBron James, who expressed confidence in Griffin’s ability to get the job done after Monday night’s loss to the Heat.

The Cavaliers have 20 games left in the regular season, including 13 in the month of March. It’s likely that a quick decision will be made on any choice in order to build the chemistry they had sought when they acquired Bogut.
