The Boston Celtics are reportedly very aggressive in making a trade happen before the deadline, and this one makes sense for both teams.
The Celtics would probably have to package a couple of players to make the trade possible, but Jae Crowder would be the main piece involved.
Crowder is a physical 6’6″, 235-pound swingman who plays both sides of the floor. He could be the ultimate backup to LeBron James and could defend both Steph Curry and Draymond Green if a 2015 NBA Finals rematch occurs.
While acquiring Crowder wouldn’t garner much notice from the mainstream press, he could make a pivotal difference in the playoffs as the Cavaliers’ two-way MVP.
Amir Johnson would be the other player traded from the Celtics with Crowder for Love.
While Johnson isn’t a difference-maker, he has been a regular member of teams’ rotations over the past six seasons. He’ll rebound the ball a little and provide energy through hustle plays during the time he’s on the floor.
He is currently averaging 8.0 and 6.4 rebounds in 24 minutes per game.
