Top Ten Fantasy Basketball Sleepers for the 2015-16 Season

Each and every year, dozens of NBA players exceed expectations and produce statistics that surprise even the most thorough of experts and prognosticators. Nowhere is this more evident than in the world of fantasy basketball. While the top of every draft board is littered with names like LeBron James, Anthony Davis, Stephen Curry, and James Harden, it is usually the diamonds in the rough that win people fantasy gold.

Some players see an increase in playing time or a greater role on their team. Some need a change of scenery, and others might be in a contract year fighting for their next big pay day. Whatever the reason may be, here are ten fantasy sleepers for the upcoming NBA season.

1. PG: Mo Williams, Cleveland Cavaliers

There are a number of reasons that savvy fantasy veterans will be all over Mo Williams in the middle rounds of most drafts. While this Cavaliers team is clearly different from the one Williams left in 2011, his role at times will be very similar. Williams saw career-high numbers playing along side James during his first stint in Cleveland, and he will be the beneficiary of many open looks once again. The career 38% three-point shooter will have plenty of open looks as defenses collapse the paint to try and slow down the Cavs’ formidable frontcourt.

In addition, Williams should see a heightened amount of playing time, especially early in the season. Starting point guard Kyrie Irving will start the season still recovering from a broken knee cap, and Williams will see the majority of Irving’s lost minutes.

Next: Otto Porter
