For years Chris Paul has reigned as a premier point guard in the NBA. He is the quintessential “pure point guard” that everyone clamors for, looking for the pass before the shot, and putting the success of the team before his own numbers.
Unfortunately for Paul, this approach has not resulted in postseason success. In his entire career, Paul has not made it to the Western Conference Finals once, and has been knocked out of the playoffs in the first round three out of seven times.
Despite these postseason failings, Paul is one of best defenders in the league at the point guard position, and is the best floor general the NBA has seen since the days of Magic Johnson, cementing his spot near the top of this list for at least a few more seasons.
