If the league had a Most Underrated Player Award, then Mike Conley of the Memphis Grizzlies would win it almost every single year. Conley is hands down the best defensive point guard in the NBA, combining with Tony Allen to form the nastiest defensive backcourts in the league.
While his offense has largely been considered his weakness, Conley has improved on that side of the floor in 2013-14 and 2014-15, averaging over 15 points and five assists per game, while shooting over 35% from long distance.
While those numbers don’t jump off the page, Conley’s impact on the game is unquestioned and undeniable, earning him a place on this list of top ten point guards.
