A trade involving Haywood and Novak would also need additional players on the Thunder’s end to match both salaries. In order to re-sign power forward/center Enes Kanter, the Thunder are going to need to create some cap space. This can be done by sending Novak, along with someone like Perry Jones III, to Cleveland for Haywood’s contract.
Novak would be the centerpiece of the deal for Cleveland. While he does not have the most exciting game in the league, the veteran shooter would be a very nice fit behind James at the small forward position. A phenomenal 43% career three point-shooter, Novak is a constant threat to hit from beyond the arc.
