Two years ago, the Cavaliers offered what was described as a lucrative offer to sign Belinelli. However, given the fact that San Antonio was offering him $5.6 million over two years and was in the position Cleveland finds itself in today, he went with the Spurs.
Belinelli is versatile enough to play both backcourt roles and can also chip in to give James an occasional breather. He wouldn’t be an onerous cost for the Cavs, he’s young enough (29) to still contribute effectively and he would once again be joining a team with a strong chance to win it all.
