Darius Garland is one of the best young point guards in the NBA, and the Cleveland Cavaliers have now locked him down for the foreseeable future.
According to a Saturday report, the Cavs and Garland have agreed to a five-year, $193 million extension.
The deal could be worth as much as $231 million.
Garland was selected with the No. 5 overall pick in the 2019 NBA Draft. He was seen as something of a risk that high in the draft due to his injury history and lack of consistent play at the collegiate level.
While he struggled in the NBA at first, he has since progressed into one of the most electric guards in the league. To make matters more exciting, it seems he is just starting to scratch the surface when it comes to his ample potential.
Luckily for the Cavs, Garland will now be in Cleveland for many more years to come.
