After insinuating Los Angeles Lakers superstar LeBron James was the greatest player of all time or simply G.O.A.T. last week, Cleveland Cavaliers big man Larry Nance Jr. confirmed it on Thursday.
The 6-foot-9 power forward posted a photo of the pair’s embrace from James’ return game on Wednesday along with a powerful compliment:
It’s understandable why Nance feels so confident about declaring James as the greatest ever. The 25-year-old played with the superstar for the second half of the 2017-18 NBA season. James was absolutely dominant in the 2018 playoffs, as he averaged 34.0 points, 9.1 rebounds and 9.0 assists to lead the lowly Cavs to the NBA Finals.
Last week, the three-time champion passed Wilt Chamberlain to move into fifth place on the NBA’s all-time scoring list. While the veteran is getting older, James hasn’t showed any signs of slowing down. The 33-year-old is posting 28.9 points per game this season, his highest scoring average since 2010. Little by little, James is showing the rest of the league how he just might be the greatest ever.
Back in town on Wednesday, James made the Cavs miss him with 32 points, 14 rebounds and seven assists in a 109-105 victory. The next time these two teams face off will be on Jan. 13 in Los Angeles.
