Report: Dwyane Wade (Knee) to Miss Wednesday’s Game vs. Brooklyn Nets

The Cleveland Cavaliers will be without veteran shooting guard Dwyane Wade for Wednesday night’s road game against the Brooklyn Nets due to a left knee contusion. His absence follows Monday’s news that the other member of what was the team’s starting backcourt, point guard Derrick Rose, will also sit out the game.

The 35-year-old Wade had struggled during the team’s first three contests, but showed improvement with respect to his shooting touch by hitting on 5-of-7 from the field during the team’s 119-112 win over the Chicago Bulls on Tuesday night. In recent years, Wade has battled injuries, though this issue doesn’t appear to be serious and is simply meant to avoid aggravating the problem as the team plays its second game in as many nights.

After the Brooklyn contest, the Cavaliers will be off until Saturday night. That’s when they’ll travel to face the New Orleans Pelicans, the first game of another back-to-back, with Sunday night’s game returning the Cavs to New York to face the Knicks at Madison Square Garden.
