5 Signs That Point to Dwyane Wade Joining the Cavs Next Season

Dwyane Wade has recently informed the world that once the 2016 free agency period opens up on July 1, he would be willing to hear offers from teams other than the Miami Heat.

ESPN’s Brian Windhorst reported that after initial negotiations with the Heat stalled this past week, Wade informed his representatives to reach out to other teams in the hopes of being able to land a big payday on a championship caliber team.

Obviously, Wade and Cleveland Cavaliers star LeBron James have quite a history together. They have won two championships together (as members of the Heat), a gold medal for Team USA (in the 2008 Beijing Olympics) and remain very close friends to this day.

And when you take all of the events that have transpired since James opted out of a return to Miami and instead decided to come home to Cleveland, there is plenty of evidence to suggest that Wade could be joining him sooner rather than later.

Here are five signs that indicate Wade may opt for a Cavalier jersey next season over all other destinations.

1. James Telling Wade They’re Going to ‘Reunite’

While James has been more outspoken about the subject of his and Wade’s desire to once again play together, there are several indications that Wade feels just as strongly about the situation.

There is this audio clip where you can hear James directly telling Wade that they are going to reunite, as if it is something they have discussed together often, as well as Wade confirming the notion.

And while at the time, some took this conversation to mean that James would once again depart Cleveland for Miami, James has since revealed that he still has several fractured relationships with a few members of the Heat’s management.

The comments were strong enough to indicate that James will most likely not return to Miami unless those few were no longer there.

“When I decided to leave Miami — I’m not going to name any names, I can’t do that — but there were some people that I trusted and built relationships with in those four years (who) told me I was making the biggest mistake of my career,” said James. “And that sh*t hurt me. And I know it was an emotional time that they told me that because I was leaving. They just told me it was the biggest mistake I was making in my career. And that right there was my motivation.”

So if Miami is out of the question, the only real destination for a reunion is in Cleveland, and it’s something that both players would happily do.
